Allen L. Hamm

Allen L. Hamm, 73, of Weatherly, Pennsylvania, died at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008.

Born in Hazleton on December 8th, 1934, he was the son of the late John W. and Ruth (Leininger) Hamm.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Weatherly.

Allen was employed at McCann Homes in Allentown and also at the Weatherly Foundry.

He was a 1952 graduate of Weatherly High School and was a member of the WHS Alumni Association.

Allen was a member of Citizen's Fire Company # 1 in Weatherly and a Lifetime Member of Bowmanstown Fire Company.

Allen loved working on his farm in Weatherly along with hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Mace) Hamm; son Donald of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Susan and Sarah Hamm, both of Weatherly, PA; sisters Betty Manwell and Carol (Mrs. Donald) Lesser, both of White Haven, PA. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Services will be from the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, PA on Friday, May 16th, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Donald J. Stump, Pastor Emeritus of Salem United Church of Christ and Rev. Richard Hinkle will co-officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
